Lecturer in French (3 years renewable contract).
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is inviting applications for the position as a full time Lecturer in French Language in the Centre for Modern Languages.
We are seeking for an experienced lecturer with a serious commitment to teaching introductory to advanced French to tertiary students. Knowledge of and experience in current trends in second/foreign language teaching methodologies and evidence of meaningful application of multimedia course materials and new technologies in language instruction are highly desirable.
Selection Criteria :
• Postgraduate qualification in French as a foreign language, French Linguistics or in French studies
• Native proficiency in written and spoken French
• Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching French preferably at tertiary level
• Experience in developing French language materials, including e-learning materials
• Experience with multimedia and computer-based instructional technologies
• Ability to coordinate large courses.
• Good command of English
The School currently offers electives in 13 modern languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Singapore Sign Language, Spanish, Thai and Vietnamese) and there are plans to increase the number of languages offered in the Centre. The Centre places great importance on enhancing the intercultural knowledge and skills of the learners as well as their linguistic competence.
